Why Activities Completed Shows Two Rows After Renaming a Custom Action

If you rename a custom action, your Activities Completed chart may show two rows for what looks like the same activity. This usually happens when members completed the action both before and after the rename.

This does not mean Rivo awarded the action twice. It means the chart is separating completions by the custom action name that was saved when each member earned the points or credits.

How It Works

The Activities Completed chart groups custom actions by the name used at the time of completion.

For example:

  • Your custom action was originally named Follow us on Instagram.

  • Members completed that action and earned points.

  • You later renamed the action to Follow our Instagram.

  • New members completed the renamed action.

In Analytics, you may see both names in the chart because each name belongs to a different set of historical completions.

What This Means for Reporting

The chart is showing historical activity as it happened at the time. Older completions keep the previous name, and newer completions use the current name.

Use the date range picker to review activity before or after the rename if you want to compare each period separately.

FAQ

Q: Does this mean customers earned twice?

No. Seeing two names in the chart does not mean the same completion was counted twice. It means the chart is showing completions under the name that applied when each completion happened.

Q: Does renaming a custom action update past analytics rows?

No. Past completions keep the name that was saved when the points or credits were earned.

Q: How can I avoid this in future campaigns?

If you want one consistent name in Analytics, rename the custom action before launching or restarting the campaign. For active campaigns, keep the name stable during the reporting period.
