Membership Earning Rules
Membership earning rules let you award points or credits to members based on their tier activity. Each membership tier has its own earning rules, so you can offer different value at different tier levels.
Available Membership Earning Rules
Rivo supports four earning rule types for membership tiers:
1. Membership Tier Unlocked
Awards points or credits when a customer unlocks or joins the tier.
This is typically used as a one-time welcome bonus for joining that membership level.
2. Membership Recurring Signup
Awards recurring points or credits to active members in the tier.
You can set the recurrence schedule to:
Every 30 days
Every 90 days
Every 180 days
Every 360 days
A specific day of the month (day 1 through 28)
3. Membership Recurring Anniversary
Awards points or credits on the anniversary date of a member’s enrollment for that tier.
Use this when you want to celebrate member loyalty each year on their join date.
4. Membership Order Placed
Awards earnings when an active member places an order.
This rule uses a multiplier-based earning setup, so members can earn enhanced order rewards while they are enrolled in the tier.
How Membership Earning Rules Work
Rules are configured per membership tier.
Membership earning rules can be turned on or off individually.
Membership order earning rules apply to customers who are actively enrolled in that tier.
Recurring and anniversary earnings are processed automatically for eligible active members.
How To Configure Membership Earning Rules
In your Rivo admin, go to Memberships
Open the membership tier you want to edit
In the tier’s earning section, open the rule you want to configure:
Membership Tier Unlocked
Membership Recurring Signup
Membership Recurring Anniversary
Membership Order Placed
Set the reward value and status
For recurring signup rules, choose your recurrence schedule
Save your changes
