Widget Language Translations
If your store serves customers in more than one language, you can create locale-specific versions of your Rivo Account Widget text.
This lets you:
Add additional locales (including country-specific locales like
fr-ca)Auto-fill new locale text with AI
Edit each label manually for full control
Enable or disable specific locales without deleting them
Open Translation Settings
In Rivo, go to Programs > Accounts.
Open Account Widget Settings.
Click Edit Locale Translations.
On this page, each locale appears as its own tab.
Add a New Locale
Click Add Locale.
Enter your locale code (for example,
es,fr, orfr-ca).
Rivo saves locale codes in lowercase, and each Account Widget locale can only be created once.
Optional: Turn on Prefill Translations via AI.
Click Create Locale.
What Happens After You Create It
If AI prefill is enabled, Rivo starts generating translated text for that locale.
A status banner appears while the translation job is running.
Translation completion can take up to about 5 minutes.
Tip: Wait for AI prefill to finish before making major manual edits.
Enable or Disable a Locale
Each locale tab includes an Enabled toggle.
Enabled on : that locale can be used in your storefront translation data.
Enabled off : the locale stays saved in Rivo, but it is not included as an active locale.
This is useful when preparing translations before launch.
How Language Selection Works
The Account Widget uses the shopper’s current storefront language when it can find a matching enabled locale.
If you use regional storefront URLs, such as
/fr-ca, make sure Locale URL Rewriting is enabled for your Account Widget links. If there is no matching enabled locale, the widget falls back to your default English text.
Disabled locales stay saved in Rivo, but are not sent to the storefront as active translations.
Edit Translations Per Field
Inside each locale tab, you can customize text field by field.
Rivo supports a large translation set for the Account Widget (including home screen text, login and verification labels, orders text, profile text, address text, footer labels, notifications, and more).
You can also localize Profile Links in that locale:
Link text
Link URL
Built-in Starter Locales
Rivo includes built-in starter copy for these locales:
enesfrde
You can still create other locale codes manually (for example, pt-br, it, or fr-ca).
Translation Field Reference (Common Groups)
Below are the main field groups you can expect to translate:
Home tab text : welcome titles, subtitles, CTA labels, rewards/credit labels, recently viewed/popular/saved/favorites text
Logged-out prompts : sign-in messaging and section prompts
Login and verification : email placeholders, button text, verification prompts, login help text
Orders : order page titles, empty states, tracking/returns/buy again/cancel labels, order details labels
Profile and addresses : personal info labels, address form labels, save/update text, default badge text
Footer navigation : home, orders, profile, community labels
Notifications and confirmations : added to cart, profile updated, address saved, address deleted, and related prompts
Profile links : custom link text and URL entries
Best Practices
Keep locale codes consistent with your storefront language setup.
Use AI prefill to speed up setup, then review key text manually for brand tone.
Disable unfinished locales until review is complete.
If you use country-specific wording differences, create separate locale variants (for example,
frandfr-ca).Keep any dynamic placeholders in place when editing text. Translate the surrounding words, but do not remove placeholders that insert customer names, balances, dates, tier names, or similar dynamic values.
Troubleshooting
A new translation is not showing on the storefront
Check these items first:
Confirm the locale is enabled in Edit Locale Translations.
Confirm the locale code matches the language code your storefront is using.
Save the translation again, then refresh the storefront page.
If you use regional URLs, confirm Locale URL Rewriting is enabled for Account Widget links.
If AI prefill was used, wait until the prefill banner is gone before testing the final text.
Translation changes are synced to the storefront after you save. If you still see old text, refresh the page in a new browser session or clear the browser cache before testing again.
AI prefill is still running
Rivo shows a banner while AI prefill is in progress. Wait for the process to finish before making major edits, because the generated translation may replace fields in that locale when it completes.
