Order Editing Integration

Let customers make limited updates to an order after checkout, directly from Shopify’s thank you and order status pages.

Before You Start

  • Make sure the Order Editing blocks are enabled in Shopify checkout:

    • Thank you page

    • Order status page

  • In Rivo, open Accounts > Order Edits to manage settings.

Set Up Order Editing

  1. Go to Accounts > Order Edits.

  2. Turn on Enable Order Edits.

  3. Choose when editing is allowed:

    • Until order is fulfilled

    • Time limit (set a number of minutes after order placement)

  4. Choose which edit options customers can use:

    • Shipping Address

    • Contact Information

    • Order Note

    • Cancel Order

  5. Save your changes.

Preview Mode

Use Preview Mode to test safely before turning Order Edits on for everyone.

  1. Turn on Enable Preview Mode.

  2. Add one or more email domains (comma-separated), like yourcompany.com.

  3. Save.

Customers with matching email domains can see the Order Editing experience while you test.

What Customers Can Edit

Depending on what you enable, customers can:

  • Update shipping address details

  • Update contact information (email/phone)

  • Add or update an order note

  • Request order cancellation (with reason and confirmation)

For shipping address updates, state/province changes are not supported in the widget.
