Shopify Loyalty Component with Rivo as provider

Show a customer's Rivo points balance in the Account Widget Loyalty Component button.

Introduction

The Loyalty Component is a home screen button in the Rivo Account Widget. It can show a customer’s loyalty balance and send them to your loyalty experience, such as the widget’s ways to earn screen or a loyalty landing page.

When you choose Rivo as the Loyalty Provider, the button uses the customer’s Rivo points balance. This setup is best for stores running a points-based loyalty program.

Important: The Rivo provider for the Loyalty Component is for points-based programs. It does not display store credit or cashback balances.




How the Loyalty Component works

The Loyalty Component appears on the Account Widget home screen for logged-in customers. It can include:

  • The customer’s loyalty balance

  • Supporting balance text, such as “points”

  • A call-to-action, such as “My Rewards”

  • A destination URL for the button

If Rivo is selected as the Loyalty Provider, the balance shown is the customer’s points balance from Rivo.




When to use the Rivo provider

Use Rivo as the Loyalty Provider when:

  • Your store uses Rivo points as the main loyalty balance

  • You want the Loyalty Component to show a customer’s points automatically

  • You want the button to link shoppers to a Rivo loyalty page, widget screen, or other loyalty destination

Do not use the Rivo provider for this button if your store’s loyalty balance is store credit, cashback, or another currency-style balance. In those cases, the Loyalty Component will not show the correct credit or cashback balance.




How to set it up

  1. From the Rivo Dashboard, go to Accounts > Account Widget

  2. Go to Home Screen Settings

  3. In Home CTA Buttons, enable Loyalty Component

  4. Click Edit

  5. Set Loyalty Button URL to the destination shoppers should open from the button

  6. Customize Loyalty Button Text and Loyalty Button CTA Text

  7. Set Loyalty Provider to Rivo

  8. Click Save




Recommended button destinations

For a points-based program, common Loyalty Button URL options include:

  • #rivo-ways-to-earn to open the widget’s ways to earn screen

  • #rivo-redeemed-rewards to open redeemed rewards

  • /pages/loyalty-program if your store uses a loyalty landing page

Use the destination that best matches what you want shoppers to do after seeing their balance.




Limitations

  • The Rivo provider shows points only.

  • It does not show store credit balances.

  • It does not show cashback balances.

  • Customers need to be logged in before the button can show their personal balance.

  • If your store uses store credit or cashback as the customer-facing balance, use another Account Widget setup instead of selecting Rivo as the Loyalty Provider for this component.




FAQ

Can credit-based stores use Rivo as the Loyalty Provider for this button?

Not for displaying the credit balance. The Rivo provider currently displays points for the Loyalty Component button.

Can I still link the button to my loyalty page?

Yes. The Loyalty Button URL controls where the button sends shoppers. You can link to a widget screen, a loyalty landing page, or another relevant page.

Does this affect the separate Gift Card Component?

No. The Gift Card Component is separate from the Loyalty Component and has its own button settings.
