Reward subscribers for their ongoing loyalty, helping them feel valued and encouraging repeat business! Customers will earn points on every purchase, enjoy rewards, and enhance their overall experience with automated discounts and improved subscription management.

Awarding points for subscription orders

Natively, our 'Place an Order' Way to Earn counts subscription orders to reward customers based on the order channels configured in the order settings.

  1. Go to Loyalty > Points

  2. Edit the Place an order Way to Earn

  3. Set the preferred earning method and earning points

  4. Optional: Add points multipliers based on collections, set custom icons, or edit the advanced settings to adjust the behavior of the Way to Earn card

  5. Save changes

  6. Go to Settings > Orders

  7. Scroll down to Order Channels to Reward Customers

  8. By default, the option All Orders will be selected as it's recommended for including all channels where you sell (Online Store, Point of Sale, etc).

    However, if you need to filter orders placed exclusively through the Online Store, please select Online Store and Subscription Contract. This will also include draft orders and orders processed through Awtomic.

Setting up rewards for subscription orders

Update the purchase type of your amount off discounts to allow customers to spend their points on subscription orders.

  1. Go to Loyalty > Points

  2. Under the Redeeming Points section, you will find all the Ways to Redeem points. Edit an existing amount off discount or create a new one (Add New Reward)

  3. Set the reward title and points amount required to spend

  4. Under Purchase Type, select either Subscription or Both (applies to subscriptions and one-time purchases)

  5. Optional: Under Recurring Payment Options, enter the number of times the same Rivo discount will be used in a customer's subscription. Leave empty if it's meant for one-time use per customer

  6. Set up additional optional preferences, such as a minimum cart requirement, the collection to which the discount applies, the discount expiration period, or a custom icon

  7. Save changes. From now on, customers will redeem points for a reward and manually apply the discount to their active subscriptions.


Auto-applying referral discounts on subscriptions

When a subscriber successfully refers a friend, their reward is automatically applied to their next purchase – no discount codes to enter and no extra steps required! This seamless process enhances the shopping experience for the referring customer.

  1. Go to Integrations

  2. Find Awtomic in the Payments section and click Configure

  3. Enter your Awtomic private API key (Where to find my API key?)

  4. Click Save

  5. Select the option Auto-apply advocate discounts to active subscriptions

  6. Click Save

  7. Turn on the integration.

Considerations

  • The advocate reward will be applied to the customer's recent subscription right after being issued

  • Two advocate rewards cannot be stacked on the same subscription. If a discount code already exists, the advocate must enter the discount code manually on their next renewal

  • Awtomic considers the advocate reward as used after it's been applied to the subscription. If the discount gets removed before the subscription is renewed, you must edit the discount's maximum uses first.

Where to find my API key?

  1. From your Awtomic Subscriptions dashboard, click Settings

  2. Scroll down to Awtomic API and copy the key
