Rivo and Stay Ai integration explained
Learn how your subscribers can accumulate points with every order, making it easy for them to redeem rewards on future subscription payments. Enhance your customer engagement and add value to each purchase!
How to earn points on subscription orders
If you've enabled the Place an Order Way to Earn in Rivo, all subscription orders processed through Stay Ai will automatically earn points for your customers. Points are awarded based on your configured earning rules.
π Note: The earning points for 'Place an order' Way to Earn will apply to both subscription and one-time purchases
How to apply rewards on subscription orders
Once you create Ways to Redeem, customers with sufficient points can access their Loyalty accounts and spend their points on subscription orders.
Go to Loyalty > Points
Under the Redeeming Points section, edit an existing amount off discount or create a new one
Set the reward title and points amount required to spend
Under Purchase Type, select either Subscription or Both (applies to subscriptions and one-time purchases)
Optional: Under Recurring Payment Options, enter the number of times the same Rivo discount will be used in a customer's subscription
Save changes
VIP Tiers and Referral Rewards
Rewards earned through VIP Tiers or the Referral program can also be configured for subscription purchases. Simply adjust the Purchase Type settings for these rewards as described above.
Auto-apply advocate referral discounts
You can automatically apply advocate referral discount codes to active Stay AI subscriptions. When a referral is completed, the advocate's discount is applied to their subscription without any manual steps.
Enable auto-apply
In Rivo, go to Integrations
Find Stay AI in the Subscriptions section and click Configure
Confirm the integration is connected and enabled
Check Auto-apply advocate discounts to active subscriptions
Click Save
How it works
When a referral is completed, Rivo attempts to apply the advocate's referral discount to their active subscription
The discount is applied to the advocate's most recent active subscription
If no active subscription is found, the advocate can still use their referral discount code manually
π Important: Auto-apply is for advocate referral discount codes. If your advocate reward doesn't generate a discount code, there is nothing to auto-apply.
Troubleshooting auto-apply
If the advocate discount was not applied, check the following:
Stay AI integration is connected and enabled
Auto-apply advocate discounts to active subscriptions is checked
The advocate has an active subscription in Stay AI
The advocate reward is a discount reward that generates a code
The discount's purchase type allows subscription use
Common questions
Can I reward customers for past subscription orders?
If past subscription orders were processed through Stay Ai, you can use our Reward Past Actions feature to reward these prior orders. For more details, please visit our guide Reward past actions.
Will the purchase type be updated retroactively for rewards that have already been created?
No, any changes to the reward settings will only apply to new rewards issued by Rivo going forward.
How do customers redeem their rewards on subscriptions?
Customers can apply their earned rewards directly to their subscription orders through their loyalty account. The discount will be automatically applied based on your configured Recurring Payment Options.
Why wasn't the advocate discount applied to my customer's subscription?
Several factors can prevent automatic discount application: auto-apply may be disabled, the Stay AI API key may be missing or invalid, the advocate may not have an active subscription, or no discount code was generated for the referral reward. Check the troubleshooting checklist in the auto-apply section above.
