Setting to determine who can earn points in your Loyalty program

Introduction

For brands, it's important to have control over the various aspects of the Loyalty program, including who can participate. With this setting, you will decide whether to allow only members or both members and guests to earn points.

Change Points Program Participants

Customize your Loyalty program to best fit the needs of your store and customer base.

  1. From the dashboard, go to Settings.

  2. Click General.

  3. In Program Participants, please choose between two options:

    1. Members (customers who have a store account enabled)

    2. All customers (members and guests)

  4. Click Save.

Common Questions

Can I change the participation setting for my Loyalty program after it has been created?

Yes! You can change the participation setting at any time by going to the General Settings section.

Can Members and Guests both earn points for the same actions?

Guests can earn points after some actions but not all of them. Only Members can fully enjoy the benefits of the Points program. Please refer to What points can customers earn?

Can Guests redeem rewards?

If your store uses the new customer account experience, the Guests that are customers with new customer accounts can redeem points. If you use the classic customer account experience, your Guests won't redeem rewards - only Members. Please read more about it on Managing Customer Accounts for Your Loyalty Program.

Do Guests get notified when they earn points?

For now, Rivo email notifications are sent to Members of your Loyalty program exclusively. Please check out Enabling and customizing automated email notifications for more details.
