Frequently asked questions
Will the app verify if a customer has actually followed my Twitter account before awarding points?
Due to restrictions imposed by social media platforms, we cannot directly verify if customers have completed the follow action. Most platforms limit third-party apps from accessing specific user data for privacy reasons. However, Rivo operates on a trust-based system, similar to other loyalty programs. We've designed the app to seamlessly direct customers to your social profiles, and our data suggests that the vast majority do complete the actions. Rest assured, most of your customers will genuinely engage as intended.
Can customers earn points multiple times for following my Twitter account?
No, each customer can only earn points once for the Twitter follow action. Once they've clicked the follow button and earned points, the action will be marked as completed in their account and they won't be able to earn points for it again.
What happens if I change my Twitter username after setting up the earning rule?
If you change your Twitter username, you'll need to update the earning rule in your Rivo dashboard. Navigate to Programs > Points, find your Twitter follow earning rule, and update the username field with your new handle.
Why isn't the Twitter follow option appearing in my loyalty widget?
Make sure that: 1) You've saved the earning rule after setup, 2) The earning rule is set to "Active" status, 3) You've entered a valid Twitter username, and 4) Your loyalty widget is properly installed on your store. If the issue persists, check that your loyalty program is active and properly configured.
Can I customize the text or appearance of the Twitter follow action?
Yes! You can upload a custom icon to replace the default Twitter icon. The text displayed to customers will automatically use your loyalty program's language settings. You can also customize the points/credits amount to align with your reward strategy.
