Show Recently Viewed and Popular Today products in Rivo Accounts, and control which products appear.

Recently Viewed and Popular Products

Rivo Accounts can show two product sections on the home screen:

  • Recently Viewed : products a shopper viewed on your storefront

  • Popular Today : products with recent order activity, refreshed periodically

These sections help customers quickly return to products they are already interested in.





Enable and Customize the Sections

  1. In your Rivo admin, go to Accounts -> Account Widget.

  2. In Components , turn on Recently Viewed and/or Popular Today.

  3. Optional: click Edit to customize the section title or Recently Viewed empty-state text.

  4. Optional: in Product Settings , turn on Recent Collections if you want recently viewed collections to appear as a separate row.

  5. Save your changes.





How Recently Viewed Works

Recently Viewed is based on products the shopper has visited on your storefront.

  • The list is saved in the shopper’s browser.

  • Products viewed before the shopper signs in or creates an account can still appear after they sign in or create an account, as long as they use the same browser.

  • The newest viewed product appears first.

  • The list keeps up to 10 recently viewed products.

  • Recently Viewed does not follow the shopper across different browsers or devices.

  • If no eligible products are available, shoppers see your empty-state message.

If enabled, recent collections can also appear as a separate row.





How Popular Today Works

Popular Today is built from products that had recent purchase activity, refreshed periodically.

  • Rivo calculates a popularity ranking from recent orders.

  • Products are then filtered by your product visibility settings.

  • The home section shows up to 5 eligible products, and the display order may vary.





Product Visibility and Exclusions

Both Recently Viewed and Popular Today follow account widget product filters.

Products can be removed from these sections when:

  • Hide Sold Out Products is enabled and inventory is sold out

  • The product has hidden tags used by Rivo Accounts visibility rules

  • The product ID is included in your excluded product IDs list

  • The product has no sellable price

To configure exclusions:

  1. Go to Accounts -> Account Widget.

  2. Open Product Settings.

  3. Use Product IDs (Comma Separated List) to exclude specific products.

  4. In Shopify, you can also hide products from these sections with the rivo-accounts:hidden or status:hidden tag.





FAQ

Do customers need to be signed in to see these sections?

No. These sections can appear in the account widget when they are enabled, even before a shopper signs in.

Recently Viewed is saved in the shopper’s browser. If a shopper views products anonymously and then signs in or creates an account in the same browser, those products can appear in their Recently Viewed section.

Can I rename the section headers?

Yes. You can customize both section titles in Account Widget component settings.

Why is a product missing from Recently Viewed or Popular Today?

The most common reasons are product visibility filters (excluded IDs, hidden tags, sold-out filtering) or product pricing/inventory constraints.
