Reissue Expired Rewards

Extend an expired reward code for a customer so they can use it again without redeeming points a second time.

Introduction

If a customer has an expired reward code they still want to use, you can reissue that reward from their customer profile. Reissuing extends the reward’s expiration date so the code becomes usable again.

When You Can Reissue a Reward

A reward can be reissued when it is:

  • Expired

  • Not already refunded

  • Not revoked

If a reward is still active, already used, refunded, or revoked, it cannot be reissued.

Reissue an Expired Reward

  1. In your Rivo admin, open Customers.

  2. Open the customer profile.

  3. Go to the Rewards tab.

  4. Find the expired reward and click its code.

  5. In the Reissue Expired Reward pop-up, click Reissue.

After reissuing, the reward’s expiration date is extended and the customer can use that code again.

How the New Expiration Date Is Set

When you reissue a reward, the new expiration date is based on the current expiration settings for that reward.

For example, if the reward is set to expire after 30 days, reissuing gives it a new 30-day window starting from when you reissue it.

If no expiration duration is configured on that reward, the system applies a default 30-day extension.

Notes and Limitations

  • Reissuing updates the reward record in Rivo immediately.

  • Most discount code types also get their expiration updated in Shopify.

  • In some advanced free-product discount setups, the original code expiration may not be updated automatically.

If reissuing fails, try again and confirm the reward is still in an eligible expired state.
