Introduction

In this guide we'll take a look at how to edit two of the default ways to earn for your points program: Sign up and Place an Order. These ways to earn are a great foundation as they encourage initial and long-term engagement with your store's Loyalty & Rewards Program.

Points for Sign Up

This reward is a fixed amount that each member receives once, when they first become a member of your program. This is your customers' first real touchpoint with your program so it pays to be generous with this Way to Earn!

To edit the points value for this Way to Earn:

  1. From the dashboard, go to Programs > Points.

  2. Click Edit on the Sign Up Way to Earn.

  3. Enter in a new value and hit Save.

That's it!

Points for Place an Order

This Way to Earn is one of the main drivers of customer engagement with your Loyalty & Rewards Program. You can reward a fixed amount of points for this earning method, or incremented points based on the amount spent. Choose the best fit for your store and you can always adjust later as your program grows.

To edit this Way to Earn:

  1. From the dashboard, go to Programs > Points.

  2. Click Edit on the Place an order Way to Earn.

  3. Select either Incremented Points (recommended) or Fixed Amount.

    1. If Incremented Points, enter the points amount value earned per dollar spent.

    2. If Fixed Amount, enter the points amount value earned per order.

  4. Optional: If you want to set a limit, check the box Limit how many times each customer can earn points for completing this action and set it according to your preference.

  5. Hit Save once you're happy with your changes.

๐Ÿ’ก We recommend incremented points as this method encourages spending and engagement: simply put, the more customers spend, the more points they earn. With a fixed amount, customers who spend hundreds of dollars on an order earn the same points as those who spend only a few.
